[DBTech] DragonByte Donate

xF2 Add-on [DBTech] DragonByte Donate 3.6.0

No permission to download
Because of a backwards breaking change in XenForo 2.1, the next version will require XenForo 2.1.

In the meantime, I will release a "Gold" version of the current beta or RC version, for use exclusively on XenForo 2.0.

The "Gold" version will NOT work with XenForo 2.1. A blocking issue has been identified with XenForo 2.1:
  • Certain Cron jobs will not work due to a change in the back-end code that powers XenForo (A.K.A. "The Guzzle Change")
The issue has been fixed in an internal build that will be released A.S.A.P., once I am confident enough there are no other blocking issues.
Update highlights

This update fixes various bugs reported over the past couple weeks. With any luck, this will be the last bugfix update before Gold!

The list of donations when viewing a donation drive had a couple issues; the sort order was wrong, and the link to the second page (& beyond) had not been updated to the new route format in v3.1.

The Purchasable file has had a few updates to fix some incorrect links. When viewing the purchase request in the AdminCP, it would not correctly link to the donation drive, and the return URL that was intended to display a "thank you" message was not correct.

Lastly, in certain scenarios it was possible for the donation drive to generate a server error when attempting to update a user's donated amount. This was caused by not finding a valid user record for the donation (such as guest donations or donations where the user has been deleted).

Complete Change Log

Fix: Pagination issue on the donation drive page
Fix: Fixed error when updating user amounts for donation without user records
Fix: Fixed sort order on the donation drive page
Fix: Fixed purchasable link
Fix: Fixed purchasable return URL
Update highlights

Quick update to address an issue where the donation drive widgets would not let you limit them to a single donation drive as intended.

After applying this update, you may need to edit and save your Donation widgets in order to ensure configuration is applied correctly.

Complete Change Log

Fix: Fixed an issue where configuring donation drives in some widgets would fail
Update highlights

This update adds two frequently requested features; minimum donation amounts, and pre-defined donation amounts.

Two of the most requested features have now been added to the mod! In the XenForo Options for the mod, you can now specify a minimum donation amount as well as define as many pre-defined donation amounts as you want.

You can even set different currencies for different pre-defined amounts, if you offer users the ability to donate in multiple currencies. Coming with XenForo 2.1, you will also gain the ability to re-order these pre-defined amounts.

Lastly, a bug where recurring donation drives would not automatically refresh (instead causing a server error) has been fixed.

Complete Change Log

Feature: Minimum donation amount
Feature: Pre-defined donation amounts
Fix: Fixed an issue where donations would flag as confirmed after receiving payment without also updating counters

This update fixes a few minor issues reported by our customers

In previous versions, donation drives that had not met their donation goals would not expire as per the date settings. This was never explained anywhere, so this has changed so that donation drives always expire as per their end date.

An issue causing disabled currencies to still appear as options when donating has been corrected.

Lastly, we've added an install-upgrade.json file in preparation for compatibility with the [TH] Install & Upgrade add-on.

Complete Change Log

Change: Donation drives that have not met their donation goals will now expire as per the date settings
Change: Added install-upgrade.json file
Fix: Disabled currencies will no longer be offered as options when donating
Update highlights

This version contains a pretty significant update: Per donation drive user group permissions!

You now have much greater control over who can view each donation drive, as well as who can donate (and in what manner) to each donation drive.
You can toggle the ability to donate per user group (defaults to enabled for everyone who can view your site), and toggle the ability to donate anonymously per user group (same defaults as the above).

For this reason, the per-drive options "Allow guest donations" and "Allow anonymous donations" have been removed, as they are superseded by the new user group permissions. If you had disabled either of these options, please configure your user group permissions after installing this update.

Lastly, a couple of minor visual bugs have been addressed.

Complete Change Log

Feature: Per-drive permissions
Feature: New user group permission: Donate (can donate to the forum)
Feature: New user group permission: Donate anonymously (requires the Donate permission)
Change: "Allow guest donations" drive option removed, as it is now handled by user group permissions
Change: "Allow anonymous donations" drive option removed, as it is now handled by user group permissions
Change: Slightly tweaked the Donation Drives list in the AdminCP
Fix: Fixed an instance where the HTML in the "Short description" would not be rendered
Fix: The donation drive entries in the navbar drop-down would not correctly link to the drive itself
What is happening?
On the 11th of July 2018, XenForo published their Resource Guidelines aimed at ensuring performance & stability of XenForo modifications. At the moment, this product does not meet these standards, due to the fact that this product has been engineered to allow the core code to run on both XenForo 1 and XenForo 2.

As a result, I am beginning work on re-engineering this product to become a "native" XenForo 2 modification. At this point in time, there are no plans to re-engineer the XenForo 1 version, as the guidelines appear to target XF2 specifically.

What does this mean for the XF1 version?

Given that I will no longer be able to produce new features for XF1 and XF2 simultaneously without also doubling the work, the version numbers for the XF1 and XF2 versions may diverge going forward. The primary focus of development will be the XenForo 2 version of this product. Support for the XF1 version is NOT ending, and you will continue to be able to download the XF1 version alongside the XF2 version free of charge. Whether I will bump the XF1 version's version number to be in line with XF2 is undecided at this time.

What does this mean for the XF2 version?

First of all, I want to be clear that you will NOT have to uninstall the existing XF2 version in order to continue using this product going forward. I will be releasing beta versions of the re-engineered XF2 version as I finish working on them. I will need your help testing the various features and combinations of features in order to ensure the Gold version is as stable as possible.

When will this update be released?

Unfortunately it is not possible for me to give an ETA on when these updates will be completed, as it depends on the complexity of each individual modification.

Will this be a paid upgrade?

If you have an active license at the time of release, you will be able to download the new version free of charge.
