An update to the Game Thread Starter for XenForo 2.x has been released. Those that have purchased this add-on, please log into your account on my site to download this update.
  • Change - Removed direct cURL calls per new XF standards
  • Fix - Genre IDs being shown when editing game
  • Remove - Unused phrases for game genres
  • Fix - Publisher/Developer not being shown in new game posts
  • Add - Cron task to update Platform/Genre/Publisher/Developer lists
  • Fix - Certain cached data being duplicated in genre cache

NOTE: Your TGDb API query count will automatically reduce by 4 each month. This is needed to update the Platform/Genre caches and the Publisher/Developer database files. This is to continue displaying information that was available from the old API at TGDb that is now a separate query in the new API.

NOTE: The TGDb API now has some strict limits on the number of queries a site can make per month (1000, but they may increase that in the future). There is nothing I can do about that. If you use your query limit, you should be presented with an error from TGDb.

Also, I've removed the automated update cron task. That could in theory eat up the entire site query limit because each page returned by the update query counts against your monthly limit.

When you first install or upgrade to this version you will use 2 queries to obtain and cache the current Platform and Genre lists from TGDb.
